About us
The International Coalition Against Economic Abuse (ICAEA) is a global movement of organisations and individuals committed to ending economic abuse.
Our vision is a world in which individuals are not subjected to economic abuse.
Our mission is to collectively accelerate efforts to address economic abuse.
We do this through:
1. Raising awareness of economic abuse. We are calling for International Economic Abuse Awareness Day (26 November) to be recognised by the United Nations (UN). We provide support to country actors calling on their national governments to do the same.
2. Connecting stakeholder and coordinating collective efforts. We elevate the work of Coalition members and supporters. We identify cross-border issues.
3. Sharing practice, learning, research and evidence. We facilitate global learning platforms for stakeholders and share resources. We organise and host the bi-annual global summit.
As part of its global mission, ICAEA actively contributes to the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our strategic direction is set by the Steering Committee. This is made up of the three founder members and representatives from low, middle and high income countries. The Committee includes survivor voice.
The Secretariat for the Coalition is hosted by the Centre for Women’s Economic Safety in Australia. It coordinates the activity set by the Steering Committee.
